For nearly two decades, Irishmanlost has documented forgotten buildings and interiors across the country, many of which no longer exist today.

This work is not about spectacle or thrill-seeking. It focuses on memory, atmosphere, and capturing the lives we’ve left behind before they disappear.

District Lunatic Asylum

Once one of Northern Ireland's largest psychiatric hospitals, the District Lunatic Asylum at Gransha has lived many lives. From Victorian asylum to Stradreagh Hospital and the temporary home of Oakgrove Integrated College, its story is one of change, resilience and decline. These photographs capture the building before time, fire and neglect claimed even more of its remarkable history.
