One of the interesting features of a grand house is the staircase, which can be grand and sometimes very ornate or both. This must have been in its day and from what remained looked good with the heavy pillars and handrail.

The natural light came from ornate skylights in the upper ceiling and it was the only light within this house as all the rest of the windows and doors was boarded. This in turn made moving about quite dangerous as inside was very damp and slippery from water ingress, as the metal thieves had already been and gone along time ago

Since this. This would be the last time i would ever see the remains of this staircase as it and the landing above has disappeared, probably stolen.
