Associate panel of the Irish Photographic Federation
This was something that I’d been wanting to do for quite awhile and especially since i gained my first set of letters back in 2012 (CPAGB - Credit Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) . So on Christmas day 2019 I saw that there was one place left for the associate panel for the of the Irish Photographic Federation which was in Feb 2020, and I booked it and then the panic would start as I only had two months to put a panel of fifteen images together which all had to gel together but also good on their own and not be repetitive. I had two ideas for the panel, which where all images from Ireland or all from my trips to Chernobyl, but I decided a mix would be stronger. I knew that I had twelve possibles but wasn’t sure till they are laid out on the floor and looking at the orientation as well which was important. The intro to the panel was also important as the judges want it to reflect to what they are seeing. After advice I kept mine short tight and to the point. I was still worried and stressed to the max thinking would the seven judges like my submission. Since I was the last booked in I had to wait till the other thirteen associate panels where assessed, and it felt a long time. Then my panel went up and after about 10 minutes or so it was accepted and I gained my Associateship. One of the judges stood up and gave feedback on the panel but I can’t remember for the life of me what he said and I wish I recorded it as the shock of passing and also the release of stress and worry, it was all a daze at that moment. Even at one point I could see some of the judges pointing at some of the images and at that I then thought they were going to say sorry, must try harder.
As some will see I have most of these for sale both on my stall and now through my website, there are a few from this panel still to add, which will happen soon, and I’ll also will be adding a large size too.
But for now, This is my Associate Panel.
